COMPOSITION

Jonathan is a composer for an eclectic variety of musical genres. Whether it be dynamic brass melodies, soaring string arrangements, or seductive harmony lines, Jonathan offers a rich and sonorous landscape to accompany the essence of and elevate your music. Jonathan wrote and performed the violin composition for Lauren Vahdani’s pop / soul single “Maybe” recorded with producer Claire Morison at Wild Horizon Sound in Los Angeles.

Jonathan composed and performed the string composition for Lauren Phillips’ pop / soul single “Leaving LA”, recorded with Grammy Award-winning producers Brian West (Nelly Furtado, Maroon 5, Awolnation, K’naan, Bono) and Tim V. Hutton (Three Dog Night, Jimmy Cliff, Sugar Ray) at the Canyon Hut studio in Laurel Canyon.

A Jonathan Sheldon original composition, “In Time”; an R&B / soul single recorded with Grammy Award-winning producer Tim V. Hutton at the Canyon Hut studio in Laurel Canyon. Jonathan composed and performed the electric guitar, trumpet line (as performed by Mark Bush [Voodoo Glow Skulls] on a vintage 20s horn) and all vocal harmony lines.

Jonathan composed the punk rock / powerpop violin, piano and background vocal parts for the seminal punk rock band The Furys’ (contemporaries of The Weirdos, The Plimsouls, X, The Zeros, The Motels) single “Miss Havisham Regrets”.

Jonathan composed the violin and cello parts for alternative country rock band Wyman & the Wolves’ single “What You Always Wanted” recorded by Grammy Award nominated producer Eric Corne (John Mayall, Lucinda Williams, Joe Bonamossa, Michelle Shocked, Nancy Wilson, Stupid Crazy Love) at Horse Latitudes Recording Studio in Glendale, CA (co-owned by Robby Krieger).
